After critically acclaimed 'Oosaravelli', Young Tiger NTR has teamed up with director Boyapati Sreenu for a new movie titled 'Dammu'. Produced by Alexander Vallabha, the movie is touted to be an action entertainer. Check out Dammu movie review to know whether NTR has lived up to the expectations this time or not.

Story:

Raja Vasireddy Sri Simha (NTR) was brought up in Hyderabad who loves to live with people and prays for their well being. He falls in love with Sathya (Trisha). One day, he meets Kota Srinivasa Rao, Raja of Veera Durgam and goes to his village under some circumstances on a mission. What obstacles he will face during this journey? and How he accomplishes the goal of his family and how he wins the trust of his villagers forms the rest of the story.

Analysis:

The movie starts off well with stunning entry of NTR. The first hour of the film is well made with good amount of entertainment, little sentiment and powerful action episodes. Boyapati Sreenu tried to establish the character of NTR in this hour slowly and we can say he has succeed in doing it so. The love episodes and chemistry between Trisha and NTR looks good and both the stars have acted with ease. The interval bang, though predictable, has been etched well by Boyapati with some power packed action episode in a convincing way.

Post interval, the movie loses its tempo, falls out of pace and goes flat. Director Boyapati Sreenu is clueless on how to carry the movie till the climax episode and the movie is dragged with songs that are totally mistimed. However, the film suddenly gets back to the storyline followed by heavy dosage of action scenes laced with some family sentiment. The climax episode of the film is not at all exciting as it lacks the much needed 'Dammu' factor. One doesn't expect this kind of climax for an high voltage action entertainer staring NTR.

Perspective:

Dammu fails to live up to the expectations of the audience and the songs too thwarts as NTR's dances are just ordinary. The much talked about 'Ruler' song disappoints and it seems NTR didn't come out of 'Shakti' hangover as the get-up resembles of 'Rudra'. Dialogues of the film goes overboard at times adding vulgarity to it. I wonder why Boyapati Sreenu failed to use NTR's energy levels in Dammu as the dances and way NTR utters the dialogues lacks the wow factor.  In an action scene, a man hit by NTR bounces like a tennis ball, also during the climax fight NTR jumps into the air are rather funny.

Bhanupriya fits into her role very well and the scenes between NTR and her are wonderful. Karthika and Trisha are gorgeous on screen and and are the assets of the film. NTR looks shorter than Trisha and Karthika and you can easily observe it in the songs. Overall, 'Dammu' is a routine movie with couple of heart touching scenes and high dosage of action. We have to wait and see how the masses embraces it.

Performances:

NTR delivered a commendable performance in a composed way. His mannerisms resembles of his uncle Balakrishna and the dialogue delivery is fantastic like always. He disappoints in dances this time and none of the songs have a rocking step. NTR's costumes are decent. Trisha is looking gorgeous and it seems she has toned her body well to suit NTR. She is looking cute and sexy. Karthika has done justice to her glamorous entertaining role. Bhanupriya is fantastic and Kota Srinivasa Rao is decent. Ali and Brahmanandam's presence is felt. Venu is OK.

Technicalities:

Music and back ground score of MM Keeravani is a big let down. Editing by Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao could have been better. The placement of couple of songs in the first half could have been taken care off. Dialogues are powerful and effective in few scenes. Cinematography by Sameer Reddy is fantastic. The production values of Creative Commercials are grand.

Final Word: Watch out for power packed action scenes and NTR's outstanding performance.

Rating: 3/5
