Synopsis:

The movie is a comedy entertainer runs in the back drop of Yamalokam. The story is almost similar to that of Chiranjeevi’s Yamudiki Mogudu. Chitragupta (MS Narayana) once gets in to a tangle with Yama (Prabhu) and to teach him a lesson abruptly ends the life of Ravi Teja. By the time Yama realizes the mistake, Ravi’s body will be burnt. So, he introduces Ravi Teja in to the body of a home minister who exactly has the facial features of Ravi Teja. Ravi Teja’s soul in enters his body and finally fights for good and abolishing corruption. What happens later forms the actual story.

Performances:

Raviteja is in his usual self. His energy levels are superb and he simply excels in this role without a hint of tiredness. He excelled in the roles of of Bullet Raja and home minister and carried out the entire film on his shoulders.

Tapsee looked hot through out the movie. Director used her oomph factor perfectly in songs to lure the masses and is adequate in acting. However, her role is very limited in this film.Brahmi as Vidya Balan is one of the major highlights of the movie and it is no exaggeration to call him an asset to Telugu cinema.

MS Narayana, Vennela Kishore, LB Sri Ram are good in little roles they are offered.

Technical Performances:

Daruvu is just like any other Raviteja movie. Director Siva, didn’t try to go against the tide like how Gunashekar and Ramesh Varma did with Ravi Teja’s earlier movies Nippu and Veera. He only tried to entertain audiences right from the word go but the heavy buildup and Tamil flavoured comedy let the movie down. Raviteja shoulders this predictable script.

Dialogues by Ramesh Gopi and Anil Ravipati are impressive. Vetri’s cinematography is good without any unnecessary gimmicks. Gowtam Raju editing is fine. Vijay Anthony music is good even if he had used all the tunes of his Tamil movies. Background score is not bad. Production values are awesome.

Highlights:

1. Ravi Teja’s Body language and mannerisms
2. Yamalokam set
3. Brahmanandham as Vidya Balan

Final Say:

If you have no expectations to watch a film with innovative story and if you are okay with a film with mass comedy you might enjoy to some extent and for others strictly avoidable stuff.
